The housing and lamp compartment for the 2x4 RDI are fully recessed above the ceiling plane with no visible light source or apparent glare, minimizing shadows and providing a contemporary appearance with a comfortable light environment.

The perforated basket and curved reflector produce a combination of direct and indirect light,
fully illuminating the fixture. This completely assembled (unwired) 20-gauge cold-rolled steel fixture has a low gloss, high reflective powder-coated finish that is pre-treated with iron phosphate for superior paint adhesion. Relamping is made quick with retractable spring-loaded pins, and the standard troffer mounting makes installation in T-bar ceilings easy.

While aesthetically pleasing, this fixture is competitively priced and has superior lumen output and beam spread distribution. Steel Craft also currently offers an exceptional 2x2 RDI fixture for general commercial/industrial illumination, which can be configured for two or three Biax, Dulux or PL-L lamps with 2G11 bases. Both the 2x2 and 2x4 RDI units come fully constructed, so all the assembler has to do is slide the fixture out of the box, wire it, and slide it back in, reducing labor and assembly costs and eliminating the need to stock and handle packaging for the fixtures.
