Bill Brown Sales Notification Regarding the Impact of COVID-19

Throughout the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bill Brown Sales (BBS) team and the manufacturers we represent, remain committed to our employees, our customers, and the lighting industry.  While the situation is serious and evolving rapidly, we are seizing the opportunity to go above-and-beyond for our customers and our communities during this time of need.

Most of the manufacturers that BBS represents continue to operate as Essential Businesses and have not experienced any major service or supply interruptions.  There are a few exceptions:

A.L.P.  A.L.P.’s Lithia Springs, GA metals plant has acted with an abundance of caution to place some employees who may have been exposed to COVID-19 on a 14-day quarantine.  A.L.P.’s actions went beyond CDC recommendations, however health and safety of employees and their families is a top priority.  Due to this temporary staffing shortage, A.L.P. is unable to uphold standard lead times on some made-to-order items and will be communicating proactively with affected customers.

Tripar.  Located in Canada, Tripar’s factory is currently shut down in compliance with Quebec’s COVID-19 order.  The current order provides for it to reopen on April 13, 2020. Some office personnel are working remotely to offer customer support as feasible. They can receive and confirm orders, as well as order the required raw materials, so Tripar can ramp up quickly once the company reopens.  Please contact your BBS representative directly regarding specific quotes or orders.

In these challenging times, we are proud to report that several BBS factories have stepped up to assist in the fight against this pandemic.  Both A.L.P. and Genesis Plastics Technologies have organized and tooled to produce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) face shields for health care workers.  The supply of these vital resources is dangerously low, so we applaud the agility and ingenuity of our colleagues in response to this critical need.
